2016 Rallies and Events

SUMMER RALLY

Date: July 2016

Location: St Cloud Campground, St Cloud, MN

We had a great rally in St Cloud, MN hosted by Jon and Jennifer Roche. We want to thank them for all the arrangements and events. We had 39 members and 6 children represented. Jolene Johnson was with us for a few hours. John Butch Donahue and Alex Libby became new members at the rally. We had people participate in trap shooting, painting, and a very competitive “bean-bag” tournament. The tournament had a exciting playoff ending with Yvonne & Bob Miller representing Minnesota taking 1st place and Karen & Dave Roberts coming in 2nd representing Iowa. We had a 25th Anniversary celebration for our club with cake and 25th Anniversary commemorative cups for those attending. Jon Roche put together a slide video show that he had running during the meeting and banquet.

SPRING RALLY

Date: June 2016

Location: Camp Farbo, Faribault, MN

We had a great rally at Camp Faribo, MN with 17 coaches camping and visits by several SOB’s. Bob & Linda Dunahugh delivered parts, Larry & Lucy Weidner came for a day and Steve Rasmussen stopped for a visit. Thanks to Midge Glenna, the leader, Howard and Sandi Renk for their work to make it happen. Thanks also to Anita White for her help.

We enjoyed the “low key – no schedule” with just time to visit and enjoy each other’s company. It was good to see Darrin Gens and Lindsay Mikkelson with his great looking coach. We had our new GMC Classic members Galen & Stephanie Briggs at their first rally with us. They are a talented and very musical family and we hope they return often to entertain us. The three children (girls) all had fun playing as well. It was great to have a new member, Paul Olson, with the coach he purchased from his Dad, Lowell. Great job Paul. Keep coming and encouraging your Dad to bring one of his coaches. We began to celebrate the Greater Midwest Classics 25th Anniversary by sharing stories and an anniversary cake. Chuck & Mary Kokesh and Leon & Helen Lieder shared history of the club as did Yvonne Miller who was the first secretary.
