The Spring rally for the Greater Midwest Classics was held May 31st to June 3rd at Steve Rasmussen's acreage close to Northfield, MN. This was the club's first working rally, where the club members could take advantage of Steve's excellent facilities and do 'hands-on' work on their coach. In addition to the excellent facilities, tools and parts, the club had as their special guest, Dave & Mary Lenzi. Dave, with his superior knowledge on front end spec's for parts and alignment, also brought many of his special made tools and jigs to help in doing front end alignment, and also jigs to do the six wheel alignment.
To make this special rally happen, a big thanks needs to go out to all the work that Steve and Becky done to make this a very successful venture. Also, to Bob Miller and his crew that aided in many ways to assist in whatever was needed to help bring this rally to one that will be long remembered as a great outing for the club.
The rally was named "Fritz Fest", in honor of Fritz Slama, now deceased, who was so instrumental in helping GMC owners with coach problems. This was Steve's idea, and a great honor to Fritz for doing that. Also, Bob Miller now has the coach that Fritz once owned, all the more reason to have the rally named after Fritz. Hopefully, this will become an annual event, the members need to support this type of club activity, keeping our coach's in usable condition.
A big part of any rally is the fellowship of the members, and the various activities that take place, such as the bon fires, pot-luck meals, a dine-out night, and the special shopping trips the women took advantage of.
Let's take a look at some photo's of what happened at this rally.
